Classics Society

Classics Society – concordia parvae res crescunt
 
Ignorance of the past makes us impotent before the present, so come and join us in our fight to ward off the barbarians.   Merchant Taylors` School has traditionally produced a long and distinguished line of Classicists and continues to pass the torch on to the next generation.
  
Members of the Classics Society meet weekly on a Monday lunchtime at 1.50 in CL5 with Miss Nicholas.  We discuss a wide range of Classical texts and topics, host eminent speakers, and attend theatre and museum trips.  Each year we enter the Classical Association`s "London Classical Reading Competition”.
