Model United Nations

If you are in the Divisions or Lower Sixth why not get involved with Model UN?

Model United Nations

Model United Nations is a forum for debating current affairs and learning about the views and policies of different countries.  Often run as weekend conferences participating students play the part of a country's delegation to the United Nations, with each delegate representing their country on a different committee.  In the Model United Nations we went on this year, the boys were representing the views of Zimbabwe and Panama, which was quite a challenge!

You will get a huge amount out of taking part; you will get a chance to learn about how other countries view the world and defend their point of view.  You'll learn about the problems faced by the international community and how countries try to solve them through the medium of the UN by passing resolutions.  At the conferences themselves, you will improve your  public speaking skills, your ability to think on your feet and your negotiation and conciliation skills.  What is more you will meet hundreds of other bright students and make lots of good friends.
