Coming back to SchoolSir Robert Smith MP – The Liberal Democrat PartySir Robert won his seat from the Conservatives in 1997 and won 46% of the vote in the recent 2005 elections to regain his seat. He gave us a most insightful speech on the goings-on within the Liberal Democrat party as well as highlighting the party’s stance on issues such as the electoral system, the environment, and also their presence within the Scottish Government.

MTS remembers Gallipoli
Merchant Taylors’ CCF cadets were at the Cenotaph to commemorate the ninety-first anniversary of the Gallipoli landings on April 25th 1915. Our boys attend this ceremony - now known as ANZAC Day - every year to honour the fallen with cadets from St. Helen’s. (The Combined Cadet Corps brings together MTS boys and St. Helen’s girls). Alan Duncan OMT addresses the SixthOn Friday 17th January, Alan Duncan, Shadow Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Conservative MP for Rutland and Melton, and Former Head Monitor of Taylors’ came back to his old school to talk to the Upper Sixth.
