Useful Chemistry Websites

The following list of websites are some that teachers of the Chemistry department may have used before and found useful, or websites that they have had reccomended and seem useful or interesting. Some are clearly more relevant than others and some take a decidedly light hearted look at the subject.

  • www.rsc.org is the website for the Royal Society of Chemistry and interersting periodicals and articles are often to be found at this site.
  • www.edexcel.org.uk is obviously the website for Edexcel, which is the board we take at both GCSE and AS and A2 level. By entering "Chemistry" in their search engine you will be able to find the relevant syllabuses.
  • Periodic Landscapes is a website that will give you a different view of the Periodic Table. It is worth spending time browsing this website and looking at some of the stunning images on it.
  • www.webelements.com is a website with an excellent interactive Periodic Table where you can get a great deal of information about any of the elements.
  • www.gcsechemistry.com is a revisions site and could prove useful to those looking for help at this level.
  • www.chemguide.co.uk is an impressive site aimed at A level students from an experienced chemistry teacher. The more interesting and complex areas of chemistry, reaction mechanisms, electronegativity, isomerism and orbital theory are here.
