Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme

The School is a registered centre for the Award, and a great many boys take part in it, occasionally combining it with the Cadet Force. There are several elements to be fulfilled to win the Award - for example, an expedition, a personal interest and a service element - and because of the sheer range of opportunities available at the School, a large number of boys complete the Gold Award before they leave. This is widely recognised as a very fine achievement.

"I had never really done anything like it before. It gave me the confidence to feel that if I set out to do something, I can achieve it if I work hard enough at it."
Owen Lloyd, ACE 17, Gold Award Winner
