Inspection Day 2007
Inspection DaysEvery year we hold an Inspection Day. The 2006 annual inspection was on Friday 12th May and was blessed with excellent weather and an excellent Inspecting Officer, Commodore Adrian Nance OBE Royal Navy, who until recently commanded HMS Collingwood. The Commodore saw a huge variety of activity throughout the day as the cadets got stuck into the assault course, shooting, rafting, sailing, flying and general training activities such as command tasks. The spirit of the cadets was fantastic - positive and enthusiastic. The Tug-of-War competition produced some thrilling matches and the winners were the Royal Naval section in a display of controlled aggression and teamwork. The Royal Air Force section re-wrote the rules of the Drill competition but produced a display of such precision that there could be no other winner. The trophy for the best section on the day – the ‘Cup’ – went to the Army section for the overall standard of their activity and their turnout. The day finishes with prize-giving and the full list of awards can be read below. Next year’s Inspection Day is likely to be on Friday 11th May.
