Library

Welcome to Merchant Taylors' School Library & Information Centre. It's a warm and friendly place, spanning two floors at the heart of the school and overlooking the lovely school grounds. The Library is central to the academic life of both pupils and teachers, whether in supporting learning and teaching or recreational activities and was described as a "jewel" in the last Inspection of the school.

The Library has 70 study places and a continually updated stock of 20,000 items, including loan fiction and non-fiction collections and reference titles, plus a collection of over 50 periodicals.

The multimedia centre has 10 networked desktops with colour printing and access to a number of online subscription services. Additionally, separate collections of DVDs, videos and music CDs span a number of genres; spoken word cassettes are also available to borrow.

The two full-time qualified Librarians and part-time Library Assistant are equally happy to help the boys with their studies or with their recreational requests. The boys are encouraged to make the most of our resources through formal information skills classes but we also encourage them to ask us for help whenever they need it.

Feel free to get in touch and do pay us a visit!
