Welcome to Choral Society

Come and Sing!

The joint Merchant Taylors’ St Helen’s Choral Society rehearses throughout the year. Everyone is welcome to join the Choral Society which joins with the school choirs for concerts at Christmas, in March and at July's Summer Serenade. There are no auditions, and all music is provided (though there is a small subscription of £5 towards music hire and concert expenses). If you are new to choral singing, or a little rusty, the choir is an ideal opportunity to have a go. Get back into the swing of things, and spend an exhilarating 90 minutes improving your breath control, exercising muscles you had forgotten about, improving your understanding and reading of music and meeting a friendly group of parents and others loosely connected with the two schools. Bring along a friend, make up a group – it doesn’t matter if they are not a parent of a pupil at the schools. If they can sing a little and would like to participate in a great community activity they are most welcome. There is plenty of time to learn the notes in rehearsals so don’t be shy, just turn up, though do get in touch in advance if you have any queries.

Rehearsals are held between 8.00 - 9.30pm in the Recital Hall of the Music School.
