Facilities
Grounds The school site comprises some 250 acres of parkland and lakes, of which 55 acres of a magnificent flat, well-drained field are devoted to sport. During the autumn term there are 16 rugby pitches, 4 hockey and 2 soccer pitches, there is an all-weather hockey pitch with floodlights and a floodlit training pitch for rugby. During the summer there are nine cricket squares and numerous cricket nets, including two indoors. For tennis there are six match courts and eighteen other courts. There is a full size athletics track available throughout the year. The school uses Sandy Lodge golf course, which is adjacent to the school field. The school has a 25 x 16 metre indoor swimming pool and a sports hall and weights suite, both of which have been upgraded recently. Sailing and windsurfing take place on one of the lakes within the school grounds - the school has its own boat shed and boats. Other facilities include: an indoor rifle range, squash and fives courts, a snooker table and table-tennis tables.
Coaching In terms of coaching, MTS has a cricket professional, Harry Latchman (1967 Championship winner with Middlesex) and occasional coaching from Alvin Kallicharran (West Indies test cricketer 1972-81) , two ex-England Hockey players coach the boys - John Shaw and Somar Singh and renowned coach (of the current world champion) Mo Khalifa helps with squash.
