Physics

Welcome to the Physics department at Merchant Taylors’ School.  Physics is taught as a separate subject throughout the School by one of the six teachers who specialise in the subject.  The first public examinations are accredited at the end of the fifth form.  At this level, Physics is either a separate GCSE or a component of Core Physics and Additional Physics GCSE.

Our aim at Merchant Taylors’ is to introduce all pupils to the subject and to let them see that the nature of the physical universe is not an unfathomable mystery.  They learn that a rational and experimental approach can lead to discovery, understanding and an improvement of their immediate and more remote environment.

You can find out more about Physics at Merchant Taylors' by clicking on the links under the 'Physics' heading in the left hand column on this page.
