Royal Navy

Welcome to the RN page. The section activities are focused on those of the Royal Navy and also the CCF as a whole. Meeting every Friday along with the others the aim is to provide a variety of activity using the schools facilities. All cadets should be able to swim since sailing is one of our options, training for navigation and boatwork also feature. All cadets shoot and undertake Practical Leadership activities around the grounds. We have two Field Days each year and one of these will involve a visit to Portsmouth to see the dockyard and the Naval Heritage experience. The other will be an overnight exercise in the school grounds or a visit to a Naval Air station.

Cadets are expected to attend one of the camps held in the Summer, the focus of the activities is chosen by the cadet, but 6 days spent learning to sail (free of charge) is popular as are the multi-activity courses and even the shooting. All the camps are co-educational and girls are involved at every level.
