Aid 4 Tibet SocietyBoys set up the Aid for Tibet Society in 2000 and it is still run entirely by pupils. Its aims are to raise funds to help:
Although we raise awareness about the lack of political and religious freedom in Chinese-occupied Tibet, we are not a political organisation,. Money raised sponsors the education of a Tibetan boy and the maintenance of Tibetan orphanages in India. Building projects inside Tibet, such as schools, are also supported through ROKPA; all of this ensures that the Tibetan culture and language is preserved. The committee is organised by a team of L6 students who meet weekly to discuss events. They are involved with all aspects of fundraising and are also responsible for training some students in the year below to continue their legacy when they leave the school. |
