Young EnterpriseWhat To BuyCalendarYou may by now have heard about us from your son: we are a Young Enterprise company in the Lower Sixth selling beautiful wall-calendars featuring super- stylish photographs of the school. Being fairly artistically-minded, we took the photographs ourselves, and the finished article is printed on thick-stock A3 paper; spiral bound at the top, so you can hang it up on your kitchen wall. If this sounds like your cup of tea, feel free to pay a visit to our website, at www.cauterised.co.uk where you can peruse through the photographs and even place an order. Why not make 2007 the year you never forget a doctor’s appointment or a friend's birthday? At £5.99, they'll keep you organised in style! If you order at any time during the Christmas holidays, you'll receive your calendar on the first day back - we will deliver them to your son's form teacher or tutor. And, if you're really keen on our calendars, why not buy two and get a third free? They might be ideal for friends and family. If you have any further queries, don't hesitate to drop us a line at thewound@cauterised.co.uk
Apple Pie
The first product is a French Booster CD, aimed at pupils studying French in Years 7, 8 and 9. It offers set phrases in each of the topic areas set by the school and government curriculum. The CD also has an audio capacity whereby each phrase can be listened to thereby improving pronunciation; all the phrases are checked and recorded by native French speakers which have been written to juxtapose the Tricolore text book series. The CD will reinforce the oral and writing disciplines of the French course. The second is a GCSE CD, featuring the 3 most popular languages taken at GCSE, namely, French, German and Spanish. The CD has been built in conjunction with the syllabi of many of the leading examination boards and features, on average, 30 phrases in each topic area. Again, the phrases have been checked and recorded, in all three languages by Merchant Taylors' language staff and will most definitely aid all pupils. This has been our most successful product and we have received nothing but positive feedback about how pupils' language skills have progressed since using the software.
Recently, Apple Pie has seen much success after appearing in the Watford Observer, and in a Young Enterprise Trade fair being awarded Best Product. As a team, Apple Pie believes in boosting the learning of languages and understanding of foreign cultures, as well as customer satisfaction which is borne out of the use of our CDs. Many thanks, Mihir Sanghvi (Joint Managing Director) Shaun Miller (Creative Director) What is Young EnterpriseYoung Enterprise is a nationwide Business and Education partnership scheme whose motto ‘Learning by Doing’ sums up its primary aim, which is for students to gain practical experience of the world of work by forming and run their own company for a year. Companies are legally recognised and as such follow established protocols: electing a board of directors, raising share capital, and marketing and financing a product or service of their choice. At the end of the year companies supply a report to their shareholders as well as offering dividends, which of course vary in amount according to the success of the company. Merchant Taylors’ offers this scheme to boys in the Lower Sixth and places are much sought after!
