Fencing

Fencing is offered as a Games Option and is one of the oldest sports on offer at the school; and we still have the remains of the old fencing salle in the cavernous area above the Great Hall.  Nowadays a professional coach trains the boys in Foil, Epée and Sabre leading to British Academy of Fencing Awards in each of the three weapons. From here the keen and more talented individuals will pit their skills against the best in the country at The Public Schools   Fencing Championships in June. Fencing is popular with boys of all ages, and for most it is their first chance actually to see as well as take part in the sport.
