IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT PROTECTIVE SPORTSWEAR

Please read the following information and ensure that your son has the appropriate protective sportswear for games.

Mouthguards - sports affected: rugby and hockey (Autumn and Spring Terms)
Mouthguards are “strongly recommended” by the governing bodies of both rugby and hockey.  The School strongly recommends that all boys should wear a mouthguard. Boys without a mouthguard may not be able to fully participate in games and will not be able to play in matches.
We do have a stock of self-mould mouthguards for boys who have forgotten their own.  These are located in the P.E. office and with the School Nurse.  Should your son need one of these a charge of £3.00 will be made on your bill.

Shinpads - sports affected: soccer and hockey (Autumn and Spring Terms)
All boys playing hockey and soccer must wear shinpads.  All boys playing Hockey should also bring their own hockey Sticks.

Helmets - sport affected: cricket (Spring – indoors - and Summer Terms)
All batsmen and wicket keepers standing up at the wicket must wear helmets when playing with a hard ball.  The School provides helmets for use in games and matches.

Eye Protection - sport affected: squash (Autumn, Spring and Summer Terms)
Eye Protection is now mandatory for squash.  The School has a supply of eye goggles if a boy wishes to use them.  Eye goggles can be borrowed from the Master i/c Squash or from the P.E. office.  No boy may play squash without protective eye goggles.

Boots - sports affected: rugby, hockey and soccer (Autumn and Spring Terms)
All boys playing the above sports on grass should wear boots.
