Concordia Winter 2018 27 Concordia Winter 2018 26 Forthcoming Events Development Development https://development.mtsn.org.uk/events https://development.mtsn.org.uk/events Presidential Reception Friday 26th April 2019, 19.00, OMT Clubhouse, Merchant Taylors’ School This annual event is always an enjoyable occasion at which attendees gather to acknowledge and thank the OMT Society outgoing President for his contribution during his year in office and for him to then formally pass the Presidency on to his successor. The 2019 OMT Society President will be General Sir Richard Barrons KCB, CBE, who was at School between 1972 and 1976 and will be one of, if not the, youngest ever President of the OMT Society. The event this year will be a very different format from previous years, with a hot and cold buffet served, as well as the usual celebratory drinks. Tickets will be £34 per person and are available through the website. A Celebration of Classics Thursday 25th April 2019, OMT Clubhouse, Merchant Taylors’ School The Merchant Taylors’ Classics Department is hosting an evening to celebrate Classics at the school. With staff and former staff from the department in attendance, all are welcome to join us to hear a guest speaker, and enjoy drinks and dinner in the Clubhouse. More details will follow, and booking will be through the website in due course. OMT Society Annual Dinner Friday 15th November, 19.00, Merchant Taylors’ Hall Advance notice that the Society Dinner will take place at the Merchant Taylors’ Hall. Tickets will go on sale in the summer and we expect it to be another sell-out event. The Earliest Vintage Luncheon Monday 8th April 2018, 12.00, Merchant Taylors’ Hall All OMTs who left School in 1974 and before are cordially invited, with their partners, to attend the OMT Society Earliest Vintage Luncheon. The Luncheon will be held in the unique and magnificent Merchant Taylors’ Company Hall, Threadneedle Street, in the City of London. Luncheon will comprise a three course meal and the ticket price includes wine. This is a wonderful opportunity meet many other OMTs and enjoy a superb meal in splendid surroundings. The dress code is lounge suits and OMT tie. Tickets are available through the website. The Turnbull Heck Spring Luncheon Wednesday 27th March 2019, 12.00 – 15.00, OMT Clubhouse, Merchant Taylors’ School TheTurnbull Heck Spring Luncheon is open to all OMTs and their partners. Please do come along for a welcome drink, and a delicious lunch in the OMT War Memorial Clubhouse – hopefully in the spring sunshine. We hope to have a musical interlude from some of the current pupils and an enjoyable afternoon in good company. Book your place through the website. University Choices Tuesday 23rd April, 13.45, Great Hall, Merchant Taylors’ School This event is designed to give our Lower Sixth Form boys an opportunity to find out more about which universities they might choose to apply to, and what courses they might wish to study. Thanks to the support of our young OMTs studying, this has been a hugely valuable event for the Lower Sixth and we hope it will be again this year. Following the advice session, you are invited to catch up with current members of staff over a drink in the Senior Common Room.
