30 ROUNDS
The shooting team have been launching back into training at the DCCT at PJHQ in Northwood. The Dismounted Close Combat Trainer is an indoor range with specially adapted L92A2 rifles that use lasers and gas to simulate firing of rounds at projected targets. This allows us to practice using the cadet rifles, honing our application of the marksmanship principles whilst getting hugely detailed feedback from the computer system. This allows cadets to make rapid progress in a short space of time. Each week the shooting team is able to visit the DCCT where we typically complete a variety of zeroing and target shoots. All of our scores are recorded allowing progress to be tracked over time. Further the Team have been continuing to shoot on the school range. We took a session to re-zero all of our rifles as well as receiving some focussed, one on one, improvement points from Capt. Sharrock on our individual technique- leading to a significant all round improvement. The next event for some members of the shooting team is the Inspection day competition, where some members of the shooting team will be leading teams from their respective sections in completing the shoot, all aiming for top scores. F/Sgt Johnson takes aim on the DCCT RSM Arlen (front) and RQMS Hobsbawm on the school range firing .22 Anchutz
