30 ROUNDS

Why did You join the CCF and why Army Section? I joined the CCF because I was very impressed by the qualities which the CCF tries to develop - 'responsibility', 'self-reliance', 'resourcefulness', 'endurance', 'perseverance' and 'a sense of service to the community'. I also thought that there would be a sense of camaraderie within the CCF. I was more interested in the Army because I have some family history with the Army - two great grandfathers and a great great uncle who served in the Army during WWI (the great great uncle was sadly killed), a grandmother who served in the Army during WWII and my father in the Army section of the CCF when he was at school. Is it different to what you expected? My father gave me a good idea of what it would be like, but even so it is slightly different, in that it seems to be more technical than I expected - the drill movements are very precise and I didn't expect to have to learn the elements of camouflage - shape, shine, shadow, spacing, silhouette and movement. What have you been learning so far? So far we’ve covered: Drill Camouflage Attacking Formations Do you find it hard to keep your kit in order? It isn't too bad. My kit gets washed after most sessions, and it isn't very formal, so isn't a huge amount of work. I clean my boots after each session and usually it doesn't take much more than 10 minutes unless they're very muddy.
