They have gone unbeaten in regular fixtures, scoring 594 points, conceding 97, winning twelve games, and losing only one in the NatWest Vase. This has been a season of flair, determination, hard work, and enjoyment. From the offset this team had a mindset of a ‘Joue, Joue’ French side of the mid 90s, playing fast, attractive, offload-based rugby from anywhere on the pitch, amassing something in the region of 85 tries this season. They had a well-drilled set piece, relentless line speed in defence, were threatening at the breakdown, and could sniff out a turnover better than a truffle hog in the forests of Italy! This was a team that had a lot of bases covered, albeit often without the size and strength of some of our opposition. No better was this all-purpose unit displayed than in the only defeat of the season in the last 32 of the National Schools Vase competition where going down to rugby big boys St John’s Leatherhead 14-12 after having led for the entire match, where a near-perfect all-round display nearly saw us upset the apple cart. The whole squad has functioned supremely well, but there were some stand-out players. Oscar John made the step up from the B team to become the team’s leading point scorer, scoring roughly 15 tries in the season. Theo Russell was destructive all season. His back-row partner and captain Daniel Steven-Jennings led with distinction and was capably backed up by understudy Max Duce. It was a season full of triumphs. As they continue through their school rugby careers, I wish them every success and look forward to seeing the 1st XV stars of tomorrow! Mr P J B Davies Squad: D. Adeeyinwo, O. John, R. Chinnick, K. U15B There is no doubt that the U15Bs will look back on the season with great delight, having played eight games to date and won six of them. The opening fixture of the season, against Dulwich College, was a thrilling draw, and a Mill Hill side loaded with A team players was their only loss. The team averaged a staggering 47 points a game (whilst conceding 13 points per game), with Zaki Akbar scoring over twenty tries. More importantly, players who had started the season in the C team proved that they were more than capable of holding their own at this level. Closer games against Reed’s and London Oratory were probably the highlights of the season, as victories were earned with considerable effort and application. Seraj Ali deservedly won the Outstanding Player award and Max Little the Most Improved Player award, though it has to be said that there were a large number of other boys who deserve equal credit. Charles Waddington captained the side with quality, integrity, and grace. Mr T C H Greenaway Squad: T. Adeoye-Showole, Z. Akbar, F. Combe, S. Mansfield, J. Marsden, A. Moneke, J. Odegbami, R. U15C The U15C team had a cracking season in which they managed to win five of their seven matches. The squad made a very promising start against Dulwich College which set the tone for much of the rest of the season. The team developed well, making genuine progress as the weeks went by, with each boy showing real commitment and dedication to the team. The forwards managed to dominate in most of their matches, and there was genuine pace and some slick skills on show in the backs. Perhaps the most pleasing aspect of the season was the team spirit which was clearly on show both in their matches and in training. The boys were always keen to develop their skills, and it was notable how much they improved over the course of the season. Despite the promotion of some of our key players to the U15B team, the squad had strength in depth and was able to keep its winning streak right through to the end of term, with a very tight final match against St Albans School which ended with a 22-20 victory to MTS. Mr N P Gorman Squad: D. Amos-Oluwole, M. Hallam (Vice-Capt), E. Jalisi, K. Dhanuka, R. Choudhary, N. Redman, K. Bains, B. Hellewell, J. Hooles (Capt), V. Saluja, H. Khan, L. Alonzi, S. Trivedi, D. P. Patel, A. Sangha, R. Baxter, M. Little, S. O’Tuminu, J. Bhutta. U15D The U15D team’s season can be best understood with a comparison to a breed of dog known as a boxer. Ebullient, joyful, surprisingly powerful and fast, and quite impossible to train, the team has always had more fun than focus on the average training session. However, when the chips were down they always seemed to be able to switch to a much more effective and focused unit. With five wins and two losses the squad had a very successful season. This was down to a pack of forwards who were dominant in the rucks, with Ollie Benson, Mikhael Eunice, and Angus Whiteside making significant progress. The
