MTS Rugby Success
MTS pupils have been shining outside of school recently with a number of notable rugby achievements taking place late in the Autumn Term. Since the demise of London Irish, the school has built a close relationship with Saracens and this provides the opportunity for a number of our talented boys to train and compete at the highest level available to them. In the U15s, seven boys were selected to proceed with the main U15 North London PDG (Top 40) or Development PDG, which is an excellent achievement.
In the PDG are Nischal V (Divs), Archie P (Divs) , Satyen R (Divs), Shane M (Divs) and Noah B (Divs), with Niccolo C (Divs) and Mojeoreoluwa A (Divs) selected in the development squad. There are training and playing opportunities for the U15's through until May.
On 13th December 2024 both Will F (U16) and Josh N (U17) played for Saracens against Paarl Boys High School at the Stone X stadium. Both boys did well, with the U16s winning 15-12 and the U17s 37-17.
At U16 Zhennuo W (5ths), Will F (5ths), Blake B (5ths), Zac W (5ths) and Amos G (5ths) all featured in the U16 PDG Festival on Monday 23rd December against Essex, Kent and Hertfordshire. Will B, Zac W, and Amos G have been selected to continue with the North London PDG squad until February, when there is a further selection of the Top 30 from across both North London and Hertfordshire.
Ollie I (L6ths) and Rio W (L6ths) continue to train with the Ealing Trailfinders Elite Pathway, Ollie featuring in a fixture against Coventry Academy in December. 1st XV captain James B (U6ths) was also busy over the Christmas period, representing Middlesex U18s in a victory against Essex on Sunday 5th January 2025. We are immensely proud of all our boys who are working hard to challenge themselves against the best in the region.
