Battle of the Ages: Staff vs Student Volleyball Showdown

On Thursday, May 9th, at precisely 2:00pm, the sports hall transformed into a battlefield—not of grudges or grades, but of spikes, serves, and surprising agility from some rather unexpected corners. While the cause was charitable, the competition was anything but friendly.
The match was set to raise money for the MTS Charity Drive, but once that whistle blew, charity took a temporary backseat to competition. The staff team emerged victorious with a 2-1 win, clinching the first and third sets, while the students showed serious spirit by dominating the second. The scoreboard tells only part of the story, though - what unfolded on court was an exciting clash of generations.
The staff team came out swinging, winning the first set with surprising energy and coordination. Mr Greenaway channeled his inner libero, and covered the court with speed usually reserved for fire drills. However this did not dampen the students' determination who fought hard and won the second set despite Mr De Weymarn's strong presence and dominance at the net. With one set apiece, the decider was intense. Mr Vernice's vicious attacks - paired with Mrs Stuteley's precise passing - put the students in a tricky position and, unable to get up that last ball, the students conceded the final set resulting in a 2-1 victory to the staff.
Most importantly, the event raised money for charity and filled the hall with cheers, laughter, and the occasional groan of sore muscles. Thanks to all involved.
