U15A Cricket Team South East Champions

The U15A cricket team marched on in the England Schools Cricket Association National Championship by beating Kent College away this week. This has crowned them the South East champions and semi-finalists of the national competition. Merchant Taylors' have now beaten sides such as Harrow, Ipswich, Dulwich, Whitgift and Kent College to progress to this stage in the competition.
After winning the toss and batting first ,Merchant Taylors' found themselves 60-2 off 20 overs on a challenging wicket. After an excellent and watchful 56 from Adam K. and 34 from Rishi M., the team battled to a very competitive 196 from 40 overs.
The Kent college batsman started strong, however were quickly halted by a tight spell of 8-16-0 from Roshan L. and 5-15-2 from Rishi M., who removed the dangerous Kent college opener after an assured 64. With Kent college on 120-4 off 28 overs, a tight finish was on the cards. Levin C. and Duke M. had other ideas, taking a rapid 5 wickets between them in short time and ending the Kent innings on 168.
