Our pupils do amazing things every single day, but behind those achievements are all of the hardworking staff here at Merchant Taylors’ School. In Staff Spotlights we look to explore the diverse backgrounds and skills of the people who make Merchant Taylors’ a great place to be. This week we hear from Abdul Sa’id, Teacher of Physics.
When did you join Merchant Taylors’?
September 2023.
Tell us about your subject. What excites you about it? How did you get into it?
I love Physics because I had a great teacher when I was at school, Mr Abberton. Being able to think about how things work and looking for explanations makes Physics the best subject to teach. The best bit is, I am still learning. We have a great Physics department at MTS and we constantly learn from one another.
What are you most proud of outside of your work at school?
My daughter wanted to follow in my footsteps and become a teacher too. It must be because of the holidays!! She is going to make a great Maths teacher.
What did you study at A-Level?
A level Maths & Physics and A/S Chemistry and Electronics
What piece of media would you recommend and why?
I love my movies, and would recommend a few. The Shawshank Redemption, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, The Sting and American X would be at the top of my list.
