Merchant Taylors’ offers a select number of places each year for exceptionally driven and talented students to join our Sixth Form.
We believe these years should be the most exciting and academically challenging of your school journey, where students dive deep into subjects they are genuinely interested in, supported by expert teachers.
"Students leave Taylors’ well prepared for entry to leading universities with a well-developed sense of independent enquiry essential for successful university study."

Monday 12 October, 17:30-19:30
Join us at Merchant Taylors’ for an evening of discovery, bringing together prospective students and families with our current Year 11 boys and their parents.
The evening will give families the opportunity to explore the distinctive shape of our Sixth Form curriculum, discover the breadth of super-curricular and co-curricular opportunities available, and understand the guidance and support we offer as students prepare for life beyond school.
It is a chance to hear from staff, consider subject choices and gain a clearer sense of the opportunities that make Sixth Form at Taylors’ such an exciting next step.
Candidates should register for Sixth Form entry by 31 October in Year 11. Registration is completed through an online form.
We will request a reference directly from the applicant’s current school, using a Merchant Taylors’ reference form. Applicants should also supply a copy of their most recent school report.
Candidates will be invited to take part in our Sixth Form Assessment and Taster Day. This includes a range of activities such as group tasks and interviews, as well as to meet with our current Sixth Formers. The day is designed to help us get to know each candidate and to give them a further insight into Sixth Form life at Merchant Taylors’.
Conditional offers are made in December of Year 11. These offers set out the grades required for entry and are confirmed following receipt of final GCSE (or equivalent) results in August.
Practical Scholarships in Art, DET, Music and Sports are available at Sixth Form. To register your interest, please contact the Admissions office.
Our bursary programme offers financial support up to 100% of the fees, and in some cases, it may also help towards additional costs such as uniform, coaches, and other expenses ensuring that pupils can fully engage in the wide range of activities available at Merchant Taylors’.
