Academic Scholarships
Academic Scholarships are open to all and are awarded based on a pupil’s performance in the entrance exams and interview. Candidates who excel in these assessments will be invited to a scholarship assessment day. Successful pupils are rewarded with a reduction in their school fees.
We expect our Academic Scholars to embody the values of scholarship, serving as academic leaders and role models within the School. They should inspire others with their work ethic, demonstrating both academic ambition and a genuine passion for intellectual challenges beyond the confines of exams.
An Academic Scholar has a love of learning because they are curious, because they want to understand the world around them, and because they recognise that academic study is a way to answer the questions they have about that world.
Academic Scholars meet as a group several times each term for lectures or seminars on topics not covered in the regular syllabus. Each year, they take on a major project and maintain a Scholar’s Journal to document their academic journeys. Scholars are expected to:
- Participate in at least one society
- Undertake at least one piece of academic extension each half term
- Enter at least one internal competition or challenge
- Enter at least one external competition
