Writes Amanda South, Senior Librarian
Friday was the last meeting for our Third and Upper Third Form book group for a few weeks, and the club members enjoyed a party to celebrate the end of a term, albeit a little early. They started with a game of ‘Who am I’, guessing book characters based on their Christmas present list, from Alex Rider and Cherub’s James Adams to Cinderella and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
The teams then took part in a Christmas treasure hunt, finding books and poems that matched festive and wintery themes as well as creating a paper Christmas tree and book snowman. There was some great teamwork from both old and new club members, and they really showcased their book knowledge and creativity.
The party ended with festive snacks, and the temporary snowmen watching on.
Congratulations to Eashar S., Rafferty S., Joshua A. and Chase L. (U3rds) for winning the most points and thank you to all our Book Boffz for providing a friendly fun atmosphere on Friday afternoons this term. Looking forward to hearing about your holiday reading when we restart in January. New members always welcome.
