Writes Amanda South, Senior Librarian
On Friday, our Third and Upper Third Form book group had the chance to evaluate in person the selection of books they chose for the Junior Library for their World Book Day Collection this year. Just as when they were putting together their shopping basket, there were differing opinions as to which they thought they would personally enjoy.
The pupils looked at which had the most eye-catching covers, intriguing title, blurb and opening lines, and even which had the best character names. Finn’s Epic Fail by Phil Earle and the new Skulduggery Pleasant book by Derek Landy ticked a lot of these boxes. Rafferty S (U3rds) was particularly taken by The Age of Enchantment by Anna James, but understandably for the main character’s name.
The collection is available to explore on Accessit Quick Lists, and books are available to borrow and reserve from this week.
