Writes Sue Grice, Head of Careers
This December, the Careers Office launched a festive Job Hunt Challenge inspired by Jingle, the mischievous Merchant Taylors’ Naughty Elf on the Shelf!
Each school day leading up to December 12th, a different question related to a festive job was posted on Teams. Pupils had to visit the Careers SharePoint site to find the answers and submit them via an online form the same day.
Prizes were awarded today to pupils who got every day’s answer correct plus a few extra fun prizes to recognise commitment to the challenge. One of the last elements of the challenge was to think about which work experience opportunity from the multitude they had investigated on the Careers SharePoint would be most useful for themselves.
The winning entry from Aarnav S. (5ths) showed great career management thinking: “I am very interested in becoming some kind of software engineer, and quantum computing will likely be the next big advancement in computing, so taking work experience at this company [Fujitsu Quantum Computing] would help me in the future”.
Congratulations to the more than 130 pupils who took part between them submitting over 500 entries to help Jingle on his career journey back to the North Pole!
