Summer Reading Challenges 2024

The Summer Reading Challenge is an activity that all Lower School and ‘new to school’ pupils participate in over the holidays. It is designed to encourage them to read at least three books over the summer, reflect on what they have read, and submit reviews to their English teacher. The top entries for each year group are then judged by the librarian for quality and effort put in. Read on to see the winners!

The Summer Reading Inspiration Challenge is an optional competition inviting pupils to create something based on any of the books they have read over the holidays. Over 30 pupils showcased their creativity in the areas of music, art, animation and creative writing.

The winners of both summer challenges have been announced, with the pupils receiving their certificates and prizes in their year group assemblies. Congratulations to all who took part. Your teachers and the library staff enjoyed discovering the wide range of books you chose to read in your own time and what you thought about them.
