Another away fixture brought another challenging evening for the U18 basketball team as we faced Aldenham School on 4th December. Although we have enjoyed strong results against Aldenham in recent years, their squad has been bolstered with several reinforcements this season, and it proved to be a far tougher contest.
Our opponents demonstrated a well-organised defence and a more efficient offence, gradually pulling away from us as the game progressed. It was a difficult match-up, particularly as we struggled to convert our shots at the rate we have in previous games. In the end, we fell to a 36–50 defeat.
Despite the result, Ben P. (U6th) and Andrew E. (U6th) continued to drive the team with their determined play, contributing 12 and 9 points respectively. Our next fixture is on 11th December – our final home game – against Berkhamsted School. A play-off spot is still within reach if we can secure another win. Fingers crossed we can finish strongly!
