A message from Judy Gilbert, Chair of the Ladies’ Association
The festive season is getting nearer and with it comes the Merchant Taylors’ Christmas Charity Fair. Held every other year, the Fair is organised by the Ladies Association Committee with great support from the Charity Drive boys.
All the profits will go to this year’s nominated charities: Merchant Taylors’ Phab Group, which runs an amazing residential week hosted at Taylors’ for young people with physical and learning disabilities, and OddBalls, a charity which supports the detection and cure of testicular cancer.
Everyone from the School and local community is very welcome to join us on Saturday 6th December from 1 to 4 pm.
How you can help
In advance of the fair, we would really appreciate support in the following areas:
- Donations: We are collecting items for the gift stall, bottles for the bottle tombola, chocolate for the chocolate tombola, and cakes for the cake stall (cakes can be brought into school on Friday 5th or Saturday 6th). Donations can be left at School Reception.
- Silent Auction: Do you have a prize you could contribute? We are looking for items such as restaurant or spa vouchers, sporting memorabilia, experiences, or tickets to events.
- Stallholders: Alongside stalls run by our committee and Charity Drive, we welcome a small number of spaces for external stockholders. Tables cost £30 and there are a couple of spaces left – so if you or someone you know runs a suitable business, please get in touch.
Online Christmas Raffle
We also run an online Christmas Raffle which raises money for both charities. For details see the button below. Prizes include £300 shopping vouchers, a round of golf, and a luxury hamper, amongst others.
The Christmas Fair is one of the highlights of the School calendar – a joyful occasion that brings together pupils, parents, staff and friends to celebrate the spirit of giving and community that lies at the heart of Merchant Taylors’.
We hope to see as many of you as possible on the day – please do bring family and friends. Your support, whether through donations, volunteering or simply coming along to enjoy the festivities, helps make this event such a success each time it takes place.
