Last month I shared that I had reached the TeenTech Awards Finals and was developing a prototype for PromptaCare, an AI-powered medication reminder system designed to support carers and elderly patients.
The TeenTech Awards Grand Final took place on 26 June 2026 at the IET in London. This year, a record 1,700 students entered the competition, with 76 projects from 42 schools reaching the finals. I was absolutely delighted to win the Best Use of AI category with PromptaCare. It was fantastic to see all the hard work pay off, and I learned so much throughout. I would strongly encourage any students thinking about entering TeenTech in the future to take part.
Alongside presenting my project, I demonstrated a fully working prototype. One of the most rewarding parts was the positive feedback and encouragement I received from the judges and healthcare professionals, many of whom encouraged me to continue developing the project beyond the competition.
I am now arranging further demonstrations with local healthcare organisations and hope to begin trialling PromptaCare in real-world settings.
TeenTech has been a brilliant experience and has given me the opportunity to learn new technical skills, build confidence in presenting ideas and, most importantly, use AI to solve a real-world problem that could improve people’s lives.
I’d like to thank everyone who encouraged, especially Mr Collins, whose support played a big part in helping me achieve this award.
