Our Outdoor Education programme is designed to inspire pupils and equip them with essential life skills including teamwork, leadership, resilience, responsibility and problem-solving. Through a broad range of activities – such as hiking, camping, orienteering and water sports – our boys are encouraged to challenge themselves, build confidence, and develop a strong sense of independence
These experiences not only strengthen physical fitness but also nurture a lasting respect for the natural world. Outdoor adventures present real-world challenges that help pupils grow personally and socially preparing them for life beyond the classroom.
Integrated Across the School
Our Outdoor Education Department works in close partnership with the Sports Department, the Combined Cadet Force, and other academic departments to deliver dynamic, adventurous experiences, both on and off-site. Our goal is to provide meaningful opportunities that encourage pupils to discover new passions and pursue lifelong hobbies.
Set within our expansive campus, complete with lakes and woodland, students benefit from a wide array of outdoor activities integrated into both the academic timetable and co-curricular provision. We also make use of excellent local facilities and international travel to broaden the scope of their experiences.
Our activity programme includes:
- Kayaking
- Rowing
- Stand-up paddleboarding
- Mountain biking
- Skiing
- Snowboarding
- Fieldcraft and wild camping
- Archery
These activities empower our students to push their limits, explore the world around them, and forge lasting memories through adventure.
