Last Thursday, Mr Manley and I took a Junior and Inter team to compete in the English Schools Athletic Association Cross Country Cup hosted by Harrow School. Running conditions were perfect and the boys arrived in great spirit, eager to take on the course. The Juniors ran 2.5k and Inters 4.2k around the school’s undulating fields. There were some fantastic individual performances, with special mention going to George H (U3rds) for taking 6th position in his first cross country outing for MTS. It was a pleasure to accompany all the boys – they supported each other throughout and showed grit and resilience in one of the least forgiving sports. Our Juniors team just missed out on qualification for the next round but our Inters qualified to compete in the Regionals at the Trevor Bailey Sports Ground in Dulwich on Monday the 11th of November. We look forward to competing at this next event and to the individual cup fixture coming up in January.
