Before half term, our Young Enterprise team, Hydrobloom, found success at the Watford Harlequin Trade Fair, where we showcased and sold our product alongside other Young Enterprise teams.
The event gave us a fantastic opportunity not only to sell, but to engage with customers, explain our concept, and develop our confidence as young entrepreneurs. Hydrobloom is a beginner-friendly hydroponics kit. Hydroponics is the method of growing plants without soil, which is a system that offers advantages in sustainability, water efficiency, and plant health. Our kit provides everything needed to begin growing fresh herbs at home, making gardening more accessible and more modern.
The inspiration behind Hydrobloom is personal. My grandma has always loved gardening, but as she has grown older, it became more difficult for her to bend down and work with soil. I wanted to create a solution that would allow her, and others like her, to continue experiencing the joy of growing plants. That idea became Hydrobloom.
Alongside strong sales, we received highly positive feedback from a panel of judges, who praised both our concept and the way we brought it to life. To top it all off, we are incredibly proud to have been awarded the Innovation Award. This recognition means a great deal to us, as we have dedicated significant time and effort to design, develop and manufacture our product in-house.
