Launch of the Third Form Reading Journey

The Merchant Taylors’ Library has launched an exciting new Reading Journey for the Third Form - a genre-hopping challenge that encourages pupils to explore new stories, reflect on their reading, and earn ‘miles’ along themed literary tube lines.

Writes Ruby Millard, Assistant Librarian

This week, the Merchant Taylors’ Library proudly launched an exciting new challenge for the Third Form, their Reading Journey. Inspired by the idea of travelling along genre-themed tube lines, students will earn ‘miles’ by reading books from across the library’s diverse collection. The aim is to encourage exploration, build reading confidence, and unlock the many benefits of reading for pleasure.

After finishing each book, students will have a short conversation with a librarian to reflect on their experience, considering what they enjoyed, how the book made them feel, and where their reading journey will take them next.

Running through to March, we’re excited to see the routes our Third Form readers will take and the stories they’ll discover along the way.

More information can be found on the 3rds Reading Journey dashboard on Accessit.
