The French textbook material offers plenty of scope for creating fun activities. Currently, French students in the Divisions are studying the topic of My Region, which includes weather forecasts and the use of the Simple Future tense. A combination of both formed the basis of Ms. Kotsuba’s recent homework task for her French set.
The pupils’ enthusiasm was immediate; they appreciate creative activities that simulate real-life situations. Acting as weather presenters, they used props, such as a microphone and a map of France to enhance their outstanding delivery. The task showcased individuality and personal voice, providing a platform for each student to offer a unique interpretations of the topic.
Ossie K. used his distinctive voice to great effect, sounding like a ready-made TV news presenter! Ammar L. Took a different approach, and was arguably the most entertaining weather presenter to emerge from the cohort! The most accurate forecasts came from Markus F. and Eilyaan J., while the most patriotic was undoubtedly Rohan N..
This delightful range of witty and characterful weather forecasts was warmly received by the class, who smiled and applauded at the end.
Well done to all involved!
