Over half term, one of our pupils travelled to Malta to compete in the Playcon Esports Minecraft World Championships, competing in the over-13s category. Between fierce competition, gaming events, and exploring the island, it was an unforgettable experience showcasing teamwork, creativity, and global collaboration. Here is what Leo has to say about his trip to Malta!

In October, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Malta for a five-day trip to participate in an esports Minecraft competition at Playcon, Malta’s largest game development and esports exposition. The event was an unforgettable experience. Over the course of five days, we competed against teams from various countries and were delighted to achieve third place in the world in the over-13s category.
In addition to the main competition, we also took part in other exciting gaming events, including Rocket League, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We also enjoyed two days exploring Malta, visiting its beautiful landmarks, and appreciating the island’s stunning scenery.
Overall, it was an exceptional trip filled with competition, discovery, and lasting memories shared with my primary school friends.
