Writes Johnny Oey, Teacher of Economics

After losing our first two games on the road, the U18 Basketball Team was determined to secure its first win of the season when we faced Dwight School at home last Wednesday. We experienced a slow start, trailing 8–14 at the end of the first quarter. However, we quickly found our rhythm and dominated the game, pulling ahead by nine points by the end of the third quarter. We maintained strong defensive pressure throughout, ultimately finishing with a convincing 53–42 victory and clinching our first win of the season.

Ben P. (U6th) continued his fine form, scoring an impressive 23 points, while Andrew E. (U6th) also contributed 10 points. Both Advaith K. (U6th) and Zakariya K. (U6th) demonstrated their strength in the paint, securing crucial rebounds on both ends of the court. Ammaar J. (Divs) also opened his scoring account with a valuable 8 points. It was a strong team effort and a well-deserved result. Riding this momentum, we aim to secure another win in our next home game against Forest School.
