We have had an enterprising start to the new academic year, with students already learning and developing valuable skills.

Our new cohort of Lower Sixth Young Enterprise students have settled into their teams and are busy brainstorming ideas for their businesses. It has been wonderful to see the energy and creativity they have brought to the process, as well as how quickly they have begun working collaboratively within their teams. We look forward to seeing their ideas develop and their businesses take shape over the coming months.

It is never too early to start developing enterprise skills, and our Divisions demonstrated just that during last week’s Enterprise Challenge, sponsored by Gymshark. Students were tasked with designing new products, creating innovative marketing campaigns, and finding ways to improve the sustainability of their businesses. We saw impressive creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, along with well-delivered presentations.

Our Young Reporters, made up of Divisions and Lower Sixth students, attended their introductory Media Law lecture with Newsquest. The session provided an insight into journalistic writing styles, a completely new form of writing for many of the students, and highlighted the importance of understanding copyright, defamation, and libel laws when producing media content. They are now ready to begin researching news stories and writing engaging articles of their own. We look forward to reading them!

These experiences provide valuable opportunities for students to apply their learning in practical settings and develop key skills beyond the classroom.
