The Middle School Leaders wished to show what they have been up to this term to date in their new roles.
From introducing ourselves in assemblies to discussing ideas with school leadership, our first half-term as MSLs has given us plenty to get started on.
Our Divisions and Fifths assemblies were a chance to explain who we are, what we do and what we hope to achieve this year. We have also been involved in events for parents, with two of us speaking at the Middle School Pathway event and the team helping with welcoming and ushering at the Inner Drive presentation.
Away from the assemblies and events, we have been working on proposals concerning the behaviour and merit system and Yondr pouches, arranging discussions with senior leadership to put forward students’ perspectives. These proposals are still at the discussion stage, but we hope to help shape changes that improve everyday school life for everybody. We also met with past MSLs to hear about their experiences as we settle into the role ourselves.
Looking ahead, we are exploring newsletters and greater cooperation between departments, alongside plans for a movie night and a Diwali event for the Middle School while supporting PHAB and Charity Drive. There are still details to work out, but we look forward to seeing these ideas take shape — and sharing our progress in the next round-up.
