After our first defeat before half-term, our U18 Basketball Team aimed to secure its first win of the season while on the road again, travelling to UCS for our second game. UCS has consistently been one of the strongest teams in the league over the years, regularly finishing in the top four and reaching the play-offs in previous seasons. We expected another tough encounter.
We started brightly, leading our opponents 14–4 at the end of the first quarter. However, UCS reacted quickly and addressed their early struggles, tightening their defence and restricting our shooting opportunities. Gradually building momentum in each quarter, they overturned our lead in the final quarter, and we ultimately lost the game 32–37.
Ben P. (U6th) scored 20 points and came close to helping us record our first win of the season. Congratulations to Daniel O. (5th) on making his debut for the team.
