At A Level Results Day last month, the 2024-2026 Sixth Form cohort celebrated the School’s strongest set of A Level results since 2010.
44% of all grades were awarded at A*, with half the cohort achieving straight A* or A grades across all their subjects.
The results will see pupils progress to some of the UK’s most academically competitive universities. Thirty pupils have secured places at one of the UK’s G5 universities – Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College London, the London School of Economics and UCL – including nine who will progress to Oxford or Cambridge. Eight pupils will go on to study Medicine and Dentistry.
Across the year group, leavers will pursue an impressive range of subjects, including Aeronautical Engineering, Robotics and AI, French and Linguistics, Music, Motorsport Engineering, Fine Arts and Chemistry with Molecular Physics, reflecting the breadth of their academic interests and ambitions.
Alongside attending some of the best universities in the country, what is really fantastic to see are the amount of boys pursuing courses that they are passionate about. Seeing them entering the Sixth Form and over two years watching interests turn into something that will become a career is a wonderful process to be a part of. It is also a testament to the fantastic work of our careers department and teachers who have offered their assistance as advisors.
85% of the students who have accepted a place for the upcoming year will be studying at Russell Group universities.
Fifteen Upper Sixth graduates have chosen to continue their education at the University of Warwick. Here they will be studying courses such as Economics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Global Sustainable Development.
Nine students will be making the trip north to study at Durham University, with a mix of courses including Geography, History, Law, and Modern Languages and Cultures.
Nine will also head in the other direction, as they head to the University of Exeter. Two will be studying Accounting and Finance with a year abroad, with others going on to read subjects including Law, Classics, and Biological Sciences.
Seven OMTs have taken their place at King’s College London, with the Politics course proving to be popular, whilst nine will be studying at the University of Bath.
Two students have chosen to study abroad. One will be heading to Nicosia, to study Dentistry at the European University Cyprus, with another going Stateside to Vanderbilt University in Nashville, where they will be studying Medicine, Health and Society.
