On Thursday, the chess team travelled to Harrow School for the qualifying round of the English National Schools Chess Championships. We are successfully through to the Regional round thanks to a superb team effort.
Outstanding individual performances came from Austin I and Jacob L (who won three of their four games on Boards 1 and 2 respectively), while captain Josh G remained unbeaten on Board 3 (three wins and a draw).
Bardia H made his tournament debut and won two of his four games, while Fourth Formers Pranav M and Salar M added to their burgeoning portfolio of great tournament contributions with two wins each on Boards 5 and 6. Nobody had a losing record, therefore, and we are really looking forward to the next stage of competition.
