The hockey players had a great block against RGS Guildford last weekend, with 15 matches played in total. The U16 age group have reached the semi-finals of the national competition, beating Bede’s School in a thrilling encounter. Taylors’ won on shuffles, with Aarav K. (5ths) once again the hero between the sticks. The boys will now play The King’s School, Chester, on Thursday 19 March. Today we host the Striker’s Cup, with local prep schools playing in a round-robin tournament. This weekend, we face RGS Guildford again in what promises to be another exciting set of fixtures.
Our rugby players have also been busy, with junior fixtures against Berkhamsted and the Durston House Sevens this weekend. The U16s hosted a rugby sevens tournament on Sunday in preparation for the upcoming Rosslyn Park tournament. The boys performed very well, reaching the Plate Final.
The basketball team finished their season by attending an all-day tournament on Wednesday. They lost to a strong St Paul’s side but had a very competitive game against Charterhouse. Congratulations to the senior side, and a special thank you to Mr Oey, who has given so much of his own time to support this talented squad of boys.
Finally, the golf team beat Mill Hill School in the ISGA Regional Final on Thursday. Antoni H won his match 2 & 1, as did Nick C, while Rohan P won his match 6 & 5. This means the team has reached the National Finals for the second year running, which will be played at Brocket Hall on 27–28 April. Well done, boys!
