Taylors’ Coaching Course for Parents
A 3-stage, hands-on training course to teach you the fundamental skills of Coaching.
For a fifth year, we are offering Merchant Taylors’ parents the opportunity to learn about personal coaching. Coaching is a central part of our school culture and underpins many of our academic and pastoral systems.
Coaching is one of the most powerful tools for unlocking natural abilities. You may well have heard about coaching in business or even have experienced professional coaching in your own workplace. Coaching provides tools and resources to increase personal awareness, confidence, fulfilment, and self-sufficiency. We will focus many of our exercises on parenting strategies and how coaching can support communication at home.
On this course, you will learn to use coaching as an empowering communication and development technique. You will learn how to ask effective questions and truly listen. This can help to promote greater self-awareness, personal responsibility and action. Coaching is a tool you will find personally helpful, but also in supporting your family, your colleagues, and others in your life.
The course features in-person training, emphasising participation and practical experience. You will have opportunities to coach and be coached and receive coaching feedback. By the end of the course, we hope you will have enjoyed getting to know some other parents, had some fun and gained an understanding of how to use coaching skills in a variety of contexts.
