Open Morning Showcases Life at Taylors'

Last Saturday, the School was alive with energy as we welcomed prospective pupils and their families to our Open Morning. The sun shone on a busy, vibrant campus, with every corner alive with activity and conversation.

Visitors explored classrooms, laboratories and playing fields, taking part in activities ranging from hockey and CCF to flight simulation, hands-on science experiments and even the ever-popular Giant Snail Race. Our pupils shone as tour guides, speaking with pride and confidence as they shared their own experiences of life at Taylors’.

“A really wonderful tour from Ethan and Mason, both of whom were kind, thoughtful and gave lots of colour and background to their time at Taylors’: great advocates for the School. The teaching staff were really engaging, and obviously passionate about their subjects.”

Alongside the many exhibitions, experiments, and activities on display across departments, we were also delighted to welcome our Head Master designate, Sam Baldock, who will lead the School from September 2026. In his address to families, he paid tribute to Simon Everson “who leaves a wonderful legacy – the warmth, happiness and success you will see around the school today has been nurtured by his leadership.” Looking ahead, he added: “For my part I am committed to continuing this strength while also looking to the next chapter of the School’s history, shaping young men who are not only prepared for the future, but ready to shape the future themselves.”

The success of the morning was a true team effort. From the meticulous preparation of the grounds, which looked outstanding, to the warm hospitality provided by our catering team, every detail helped to create a memorable experience for visitors. We are deeply grateful to all colleagues, pupils and current parents who gave their time and energy to make the day such a success. The hugely positive feedback we received reflects both the strength of our community and the excellence of what we have to offer.

We hope the morning has inspired many future Taylors’ boys and we look forward to welcoming them back to School in the months ahead.
