We are delighted to share the news that Amaan Patel, Midun Odunaiya and Josh Simpson have won places in the prestigious National Youth Theatre. The process started back in January and involved thorough online auditions including a filmed performance entry, interview and recall.
Amaan Patel (L6th) is the 2021 MTS Lockdown Monologues Winner when he performed a moving piece from Arthur Miller’s Death of A Salesman. He won the Duologues Competition in February 2020 and was a very committed GCSE Drama student. Amaan is currently working on his entry for the Summer Duologues Competition, and we look forward to seeing him perform after half-term, in Summer Scenes: MTS Drama Live.
Midun (5ths) throws himself into all Drama opportunities on offer. In recent years, he has performed in Les Misérables, The Tempest, Duologues Competitions and House Drama. He was also involved as Stage Manager in Our Day Out, our last live performance, in March 2020, and in the YouTube Premiere of Bard in the Yard earlier this year. Midun will be part of a talented group of MTS Actors starting A Level Theatre Studies in September. Josh (Divisions) never misses an opportunity to be involved in Drama. In the six months before the March 2020 Lockdown, Josh managed to take part in three school productions, performing in Les Misérables, Our Day Out and House Drama. He has also performed in many other MTS Drama performances including The Tempest, Duologues Competitions and starred in the recent YouTube Film Performance
Mr Richardson and I have found all three boys to be highly committed and motivated team players; they are generous, hard-working, and keen to take on feedback. Each of them has made a substantial contribution to the Drama Department in recent years. Many congratulations to the boys for gaining a place in the company
