Past Papers for English and Maths.
The Verbal Reasoning paper at 11+ is being replaced by a General Paper designed to test a range of learning skills such as thinking, problem solving and creativity. The paper is specific to Merchant Taylors and specimens will not be posted.
Verbal Reasoning will continued to be used at 13+, but only for those candidates unable to sit all of the subject exams, excluding Latin. The verbal reasoning papers are standard VR papers and boys complete 100 multiple-choice questions in 45 minutes. We do not provide samples of past VR tests, but similar tests are available from reputable book sellers.

The format of the 13+ papers will change from January 2017.
- Exams will be shortened and held over two half days (Friday/Saturday).
- The Verbal Reasoning Test will be reserved only for those candidates unable to offer a full suite of examinations (typically overseas or state school).
- History and Geography will be combined with Religious Studies into a Humanities paper.
- German and Spanish are also available as options instead of French.
