The Archive identifies, selects and preserves material relating to the history of Merchant Taylors’ School, making it available for use by staff, pupils, and the wider community. Our aim is to ensure a complete and accurate record of the work of the School.
Although many of the older School records are kept with those of Merchant Taylors’ Company at Guildhall Library [Download The Catalogue] in London there remains a significant and growing collection at the School. The MTS Archive contains a broad range of material relating to the School, its pupils and staff including manuscripts, photographs, textiles, artefacts and digital material. The Archive is also home to a rare books collection named the Goad Library, which was assembled by John Goad, Headmaster from 1661, as the original School Library.
